How to Pack and Transport Large Glass Chandeliers Safely
Short answer
Large glass chandeliers should be packed in controlled sections rather than as one fully assembled object. Fragile glass, metal structures and loose decorative elements need separate protection, clear identification and an installation plan for reassembly at site.
Separate fragile components
Removable glass shades, bowls, drops and other fragile pieces should be individually protected so they cannot strike one another during movement.
Protect the structure
Arms, frames and decorative metalwork should be immobilised and cushioned to prevent bending, abrasion and pressure on joints.
Label packed parts
For multi-box fixtures, clear identification makes installation easier and reduces unnecessary unpacking or mixing of components at site.
Plan reassembly
Keep photographs, component references or an installation sequence available for larger fixtures. Site access, ceiling height and lifting method should be considered before delivery day.
